Platform Tips: Guntakal Junction has multiple platforms. Use the foot overbridge (FOB) to move between platforms. The station has a retiring room, waiting halls, and basic refreshment stalls. For real-time train information, use the IRCTC NTES app or ask at the enquiry counter.
📍 From the Station to Town
Auto-rickshaws are readily available outside the station. Fares to town center: ~50–100. To Kasapuram Temple: ~200–300 (negotiate before boarding).
🚌 By Bus
Guntakal has a well-connected APS RTC bus station (Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation) with services to major towns in the region.
- Anantapur: Frequent buses every 15–30 mins (1.5 hrs journey)
- Bellary (Karnataka): Buses every 30–60 mins (1.5 hrs)
- Kurnool: Direct buses available (3–4 hrs)
- Bengaluru: Overnight and day buses via Anantapur (6–7 hrs)
- Dharmavaram: Frequent buses (1 hr)
The bus station is located near the town center, about 1.5 km from the railway station. Auto-rickshaws connect the two.

Recommendation: Fly into Bengaluru (BLR) and take a train from Bengaluru City or Yesvantpur to Guntakal Junction (4–5 hrs). This is the most convenient air+rail combination.

Guntakal is accessible by road via NH 44 (the major north–south highway). National Highway 44 passes through Anantapur, about 60 km away. From Anantapur, take State Highway 63 to reach Guntakal.
